Changing of the Guard: Bringing in Professional Management
Dear CE Friends, Thank you to everyone who attended our CE Shanghai Launch on May 13th. There was great feedback from everyone in attendance and China Entrepreneurs looks forward to many more events in Shanghai. Please allow me to thank you again for your support on behalf all us at CE. We will continue to assist in helping more entrepreneurs to build their world class enterprises and made their own successful stories in two great Chinese cities. This month in Beijing, we will hold Session 6 of our Start Up 101 Series. I am sorry to add, that this will be the last event in Beijing before the Olympic Games. We hope you all benefit from another great CE event before enjoying this historical moment in China. According to our survey on leadership, we found that a lot of entrepreneurs are not sure when is the right time to step down as CEO, passing the baton to the next person or hiring very experienced management professionals. Most entrepreneurs are unsure when to bring in these professionals to help them transition their company from an entrepreneurial venture to a company with systems and procedures. It is difficult to give up “your baby”, but how do you know if you have found the right person? Others issues involve making the transition efficient to ensure that there is no leadership void and that the employees work just as hard for the new CEO or top level manager. In addition to all that, we found that most entrepreneurs are a bit unsure how best to compensate these highly paid professionals, whether through stock options, cash only, or other incentive programs. In the upcoming Start Up 101 Series, we will help entrepreneurs think about some of these issues to ensure that the future of the enterprise is in good hands and continues on the path to greatness. Each of our speakers is an expert on professional management. You can expect to hear from them valuable information on how to minimize management and business risks as the company brings in professional management to increase market domination. You will also walk away with valuable tips on creating ways to compensate them. We hope to see you there for another great conversation on “Changing of the Guard: Bringing in Professional Management”. Sincerely, Eric L.
